02 · Aware, not looking

Not shopping formarketing? Good.This isn't a pitch.

You already know marketing matters. You are just not ready to spend on it, and that is fine. Below are the three things that are probably costing you calls right now, how to check each one yourself in five minutes, and two things we will do for free while you decide.

Your Google Business Profile is probably half empty.

When someone in your suburb searches for what you do, Google shows three businesses on a map before anything else. Which three is decided mostly by the profile, not the website. Most local profiles were set up in ten minutes years ago and never touched again.

Check it in five minutes. Search your business name on your phone and open the profile.

  • Is the primary category the exact thing you sell, not something close to it?
  • Are your services listed, each with a description?
  • Are there photos from this year?
  • Have you had a review in the last 30 days?
  • Does the service area match the suburbs you actually drive to?

Two or more no answers and you are handing the Map Pack to whoever bothered. A Sydney detailer we manage went from 14th to the top three in 90 days on this work alone. Here is exactly what we did.

02

Your website has three seconds, and it is talking about you.

Open your homepage on your phone. If the first thing it says is "Welcome to ABC Plumbing, servicing Perth for 25 years", it is talking about you. The person reading it is thinking: can you fix my problem, how fast, and how do I contact you.

The rewrite that fixes most of it. Service is what you do. Outcome is why they buy.

Before

"We are a family owned landscaping company servicing Perth for 20 years."

After

"A low maintenance backyard you will actually use, without spending your weekends on it."

  • Can a stranger tell what you do in three seconds?
  • Is the headline about their problem or your history?
  • Is the phone number tappable on a phone?
  • Is the button "Get a quote" or "Learn more"?
03

Traffic is arriving. Then it leaks out.

Getting someone onto your website is half the job. Here is the path most sites make them walk: Google, website, hunt for the phone number, find the contact page, a twelve field form, give up. The path that captures them is: understand the offer, trust the business, tap "Get a quote", done in ten seconds.

A form should ask for what you need to call back and nothing else. Name, phone, what do you need. That is it. The rest you find out on the phone.

  • Can someone message you in ten seconds from any page?
  • Do enquiries land on your phone the moment they are sent, or in an inbox you check on Fridays?
  • Is there proof near the button: reviews, results, photos?

Two Perth sites we built this year, for a removalist and a rug washer, took 39 enquiries in three months and 22 in the first month. Same three fixes. Screenshots and numbers here.

04

Reviews are the cheapest ranking lever you have, and you are asking wrong.

Review count and recency are two of the strongest signals in the Map Pack. Most owners ask for reviews by text, days later, with a link, and hear nothing back. The fix is to ask at the moment the customer is happiest, standing in front of you, and make it a ten second job.

That is what the Google review card is. Tap it on their phone, their Google review screen opens with your business already selected. We give one to every client, and if you are not a client yet it is worth seeing anyway.

Two free things, no strings

While you decide, we will do these for you anyway.

Free ranking report

See where you actually rank, suburb by suburb.

Tell us your business, your suburb and the search you want to win. We send back a Google Maps ranking heatmap within one business day. It is the same report we run for paying clients, and yes, it will show you exactly what chapter one was about.

No follow up sequence, no sales call unless you ask for one. You will get one automatic email confirming it landed, then the report from Jake.

Keep learning

The rest of the checklist, in your feed.

We post the audits we do, the website mistakes we see every week, and the SEO quick wins that most businesses ignore. No fake urgency, no jargon, and every number traces to a real client.

When you are ready to spend, the prices are all public, and the first question we ask is your budget, so we can point you at the cheapest thing that works.
