This policy explains what personal information Syvex collects when you use syvex.xyz or engage us for work, how we use it, who we share it with, and what control you have over it. Syvex is a digital marketing business based in Perth, Western Australia. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Syvex, and "you" means the person using the site or dealing with us.
If you have questions about anything here, email jake@syvex.xyz or call 0439 967 385.
What we collect
Information you give us. When you submit a form on this site we collect what you type into it:
- Strategy call form: your name, business name, phone number, email address, website address, monthly marketing budget range, how soon you want to start, and anything you write in the message box.
- Free ranking report form: your business name, suburb or service area, the keyword you want to rank for, and your email address.
- Review form: your name, business name, rating and any comments you leave.
We only collect what the form asks for. You are not required to give us this information, but without it we cannot contact you or prepare what you have asked for.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, our analytics and advertising tools collect technical and behavioural information such as your approximate location (usually city level), device and browser type, the pages you view, how you arrived at the site, and how you interact with it. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies, described below.
Information from working together. If you become a client, we may also hold billing details, access credentials you choose to share with us for your website, Google Business Profile or ad accounts, and correspondence between us.
Cookies and tracking tools
This site uses the following third party tools. Each one sets cookies or uses similar identifiers, and each one receives data about your visit.
- Google Analytics 4 — measures how people find and use the site so we can improve it. Google may use this data in line with its own policies.
- Google Ads conversion tracking — tells us which ads led to an enquiry, so we can measure whether advertising is working.
- Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram) — measures the results of our Facebook and Instagram advertising and allows us to show ads to people who have visited this site. Meta may match this activity to a Facebook or Instagram account if you have one.
You can control this. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all sites using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, manage Google ad personalisation at My Ad Center, and manage Meta ad settings in your Facebook or Instagram account settings. Blocking cookies will not stop you using this site.
Why we use your information
- To respond to your enquiry, prepare a quote, or build the ranking report you requested.
- To deliver services you have engaged us for, and to communicate with you about that work.
- To measure and improve the performance of this website and our advertising.
- To send you marketing about our services, where you have asked for it or where we are otherwise permitted to. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and we act on unsubscribe requests promptly, as required by the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).
- To meet our legal and accounting obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with unrelated third parties for their own marketing.
Who we share it with
We use the following service providers, who handle data on our behalf or receive it as part of how their tools work:
- Supabase — the database where form submissions are stored.
- Netlify — hosts this website and processes the requests your browser makes to it.
- Google — analytics and advertising, as described above.
- Meta Platforms — advertising measurement and audiences, as described above.
- Our email, calendar and accounting providers, where your details form part of ordinary business correspondence and records.
We may also disclose information where we are required to by law, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.
Overseas disclosure
Several of the providers above store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries. By using this site or submitting a form, you acknowledge that your information may be handled overseas, and that overseas recipients may not be subject to Australian privacy law. We take reasonable steps to use reputable providers who apply appropriate protections.
How we store and protect it
Form submissions are stored in a database with access controls that prevent public reading of records. Access is limited to the people at Syvex who need it. We use reputable providers, keep our systems up to date, and take reasonable steps to protect information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but if a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will respond in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry information for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back to us. Client records are kept for as long as we work together and afterwards for the period required by tax and other record keeping laws, generally seven years. When information is no longer needed and we are not required to keep it, we delete or de-identify it.
Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, or ask us to delete it. Email jake@syvex.xyz and we will respond within a reasonable time, normally within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first. In limited cases we may refuse a request, and if we do we will tell you why.
Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first at jake@syvex.xyz so we can try to sort it out. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
Other websites
This site links to other websites, including our clients' sites and social media platforms. We are not responsible for how those sites handle your information. Read their privacy policies before giving them your details.
Children
This site and our services are aimed at businesses, not children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their details, contact us and we will delete them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our business, tools or the law changes. The current version always lives at syvex.xyz/privacy and the date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a significant change we will make that clear on this page.
